Tom and Nancy Murray have been raising some of the world’s most well-known Registered Holsteins for more than two decades. Generations of Muranda Registered Holsteins have been bred and cared for in Waterloo, N.Y., by the Murray family. Their Muranda Holsteins have earned accolades for their conformation and their milk, including the “Dairy of Distinction” award; the “Super Milk” award for 17 years, and the Progressive Breeders Herd designation.
In 1997, one of the Murray’s Muranda cows set the world record for milk production and held it for 13 years. The Muranda Cheese Company was created nine years ago by the Murrays to showcase how high quality milk could create exquisite cheeses. A fitting complement to the fine wines of the Finger Lakes, their cheeses have been featured at a number of the region’s wineries and restaurants.
